Biography
Pamela L. Purdy established the Law Office of Pamela L. Purdy in March 2006, concentrating her practice in Family and Matrimonial Law. After receiving her B.A. from the University of Richmond in 1996, she worked for a year for the law firm of Hunton and Willliams in Richmond, Virginia as a tobacco litigation paralegal. She attended law school at American University, Washington College of Law, graduating in 2000. After graduation, she clerked for the Honorable Justin M. Johnson of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, during which most of her assignments dealt with family law issues. Prior to opening her own practice, Ms. Purdy worked as a family law associate at McNees Wallace and Nurick LLC in Harrisburg from 2001 to 2006.
She is a member of the Family Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association
where she holds a council position. She is the immediate past chair of the
Dauphin County Young Lawyers Section and secretary of its Family Law Section.
Ms. Purdy serves as a custody conciliator for the Dauphin County Court of Common
Pleas. She also is a member of the Collaborative Professionals of Central Pennsylvania
(formerly the Independent Collaborative Attorneys of Central Pennsylvania)
and the International Academy
of Collaborative
Professionals.
She has lectured on family law issues for the Pennsylvania Bar Association
Family Law Section and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. She is a trained divorce
mediator and collaborative law attorney.
Ms. Purdy was born in the Harrisburg area. She has been active in various community organizations.
